The American auto industry may not be dead, but it certainly isn’t in any kind of state near where it was 50 years ago. If you take a look at the top 10 best selling cars in America today, you will see exactly two on the list that are American (both of them are Fords). Even after the bailout of GM, the company is doing better, but the industry itself is still being dominated by the major players in Japan, Korea, Europe and elsewhere. Though, Black & White Auto Body is a body shop that focuses on providing auto repairs to both foreign and domestic cars, we of course have a soft spot for American designed and built models.
What does the future hold for American automakers? Well, it’s a tough question to answer. The increasing globalization of automobile sales has opened American automakers up to a large number of competitors who have been largely beating the pants off of our favorite domestic companies over the past few decades. Most observers believe that American car companies are now starting to provide cars that Americans want to drive and that are reliable and affordable. But, that wasn’t always the case over the past few decades. Instead, some American cars were unreliable and unfortunately required quite a few unnecessary auto repairs and trips to the body shop.

Today, the lines are becoming increasingly blurred between what domestic or imported cars even means. For example, Toyota is certainly not an American owned company, but they do assemble and build many of their vehicles here. Ford, on the other hand, actually assembles many of their vehicles abroad in other questions. So, does that mean we should consider Toyota a domestic car? What really counts here? The name of the person who owns the company? Or, which company is employing American workers and bringing quality jobs to our country?
Of course, in the auto repairs industry, we don’t discriminate against one vehicle or one company over another, but many of us are definitely nostalgic for a time when American owned, made and designed vehicles dominated the roads. Hopefully, with any luck that time will come again and more of those beautiful American-made cars will end up in our body shop.
If you have been shopping around for the best collision repair shop, or you are in the industry, you may have heard the acronym I-CAR and wondered what exactly it stands for. Well, we’re here to tell you and demystify your acronym confusion. I-CAR stands for Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair which is an independent organization that provides professional development classes, training, certifications and support for employees and workers in the collision repair industry.
Local auto repair shops that are staffed by technicians with I-CAR certifications are more likely to provide a higher level of service, simply because their employees will tend to be more knowledgeable, more up-to-date on industry trends and technology and generally better skilled workers. The difference in quality can often be seen in just about every aspect of the business, from the professionalism and customer service of the staff who initially meet you, to the workmanship and quality of the dent repair that you receive when you entrust your body work to a local auto repair shop.

I-CAR is a professional organization that is dedicated to making sure that technicians and workers at a repair shop are skilled and prepared for just about any collision repair that they may encounter. The primary way that they do this is by offering a number of courses and classes, which lead to certifications displaying the work and achievements of the individuals who have successfully passed and graduated from these programs.
In addition to providing classes and certifications for individual technicians, I-CAR also certifies businesses based on their expertise in collision repair and the number of certified technicians that are employed at a given local auto repair shop. The answer is clear, if you are looking for the highest quality collision repair work, you should go to a shop that employs I-CAR certified technicians.
If you are looking for those technicians that will always do the job right the first time, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism then drop by your dent repair shop in Colorado Springs, Black & White Auto Body.
So, you got in a bit of a fender-bender and now you need to get your car fixed. But, the only problem is that you’re on a budget. You know how much those repair jobs can cost and you’re not exactly made of money. However, you’re certainly not going to be driving around town with a busted and dented vehicle, either. You’ve got to get that car repaired and you want it done right, but you don’t want to have to sell your first-born child in order to do it. What can you do?
Well, at Black & White Auto Body, we’re your Colorado Springs paintless dent repair destination. If you haven’t heard of paintless dent repair, then we have news for you. There is a way to get most of those minor dents and dings fixed in a more affordable way than ever before. The answer is called paintless dent repair. What exactly is paintless dent repair? It’s a way of repairing those dings and dents without having to replace the entire part and repaint the whole thing, which is the traditional method of car dent repair.

So, how exactly does it work? Well, instead of replacing the entire car body section, paintless dent repair is a technique which requires a technician to use specialized tools and a great deal of finesse to essentially massage the dent out of the metal. This requires a good deal of skill, but at Black & White Auto Body, you Colorado Springs paintless dent repair destination, we have the technicians who have the expertise and skill to fix most of your minor dents and dings in this way.
The end result looks good as new and is usually impossible to even identify that there was ever any damage in the first place. The only way that you will know that your car dent repair was paintless is that your bill will often be quite a bit lower. That’s why this is a great option for those cars that just have minor dents and dings and those customers who are on a budget and want to get their car fixed without spending an arm and leg.
Those crazy technicians who spend all their time slaving away improving and repairing car bodies probably have a screw loose, right? I mean, who would really want to spend all of their days doing auto body repair and fixing dents and dings? Could there be something deeper that is appealing about restoring an old, broken or damaged automobile to its former glory? Even making it better than it was before?
That’s what a lot of us at the body shop are obsessed with. There’s something almost magical and incredibly rewarding about taking a broken automobile, or a dinged and dented mess of an auto body and fixing it up so that it’s as good as new. The same goes for doing an in-depth auto detailing that has you pore over every inch of a vehicle in order to make it look its absolute best.

Of course, some of the most rewarding work that we do is also the full auto restorations. When you can take an older, neglected car and bring it back to its former glory it is almost like having access to a time machine. The beauty of auto restoration is that you can see what that vehicle looked like when it rolled off of the lot, whether that was 40, 50, 60 or even 75 years ago. That’s something that is truly special about the specialists at your auto body repair shop. Auto detailing and auto restoration are just two ways to give back to the car enthusiasts that we all know and love.
If you have a vehicle that needs an auto detailing or some auto repair work, bring it to us at Black & White Auto Body. We have the expertise and, just as importantly, the passion to make your vehicle as good as new. We use only the highest quality tools in our body shop and the newest processes for getting your vehicle back in prime shape and ready to hit the open road. If you want to take your car somewhere where the auto technicians will work on it with as much care and love as you yourself would, then bring it to us at Black & White. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
At Black & White Auto Body we believe that there are two things that are important when doing our work: performing the job the right way and providing you with the most affordable auto repairs in the Colorado Springs area. If there is one thing that sets us apart, we would say that it is an adamant refusal to compromise in all of our work.
Most collision repair shops will either provide you with good service and make you pay a high premium for it, or charge you a cheaper price but cut corners everywhere they can in order to make sure they can still make a bunch of cash off of you. At Black & White Auto we don’t think that this is the only way to perform auto repairs, that’s why our technicians are highly trained professionals that provide quality service and the best collision repair that you can find in the Colorado Springs area.
We make sure that low dent repair cost doesn’t equate to low quality of work. Why? Because that’s what professionalism is. It’s doing the job right and doing it for the best price possible. Being a professional is about knowing your industry and your work inside out and refusing to compromise your integrity or your commitment to good work, just to make a little extra cash.
Of course there are auto repairs that end up being more expensive than they were initially expected to be and also dent repair cost that is higher than a customer may have expected. When we start a job that we realize is going to end up costing us more than we originally anticipated, we always make sure to be straightforward with that customer about the situation and to provide an honest assessment of what your options are and how you can best get the situation resolved. That’s because professionalism also requires communicating honestly with the customer and not trying to hide extra costs behind jargon and the lack of knowledge that the average customer may have.
In order to provide the best dent repair cost in Colorado Springs, we simply do the best work in the most efficient manner. We don’t cut corners with our auto repairs and we hope that you will trust us with your next collision repair or any body work that you may need done. Give us a call at Black & White Auto Body. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

The Denver Post has an article out which discusses how carmakers are increasingly taking advantage of advanced adhesives in order to make their cars stronger and lighter. Although, most car body parts have traditionally been bolted together, stricter standards on emissions and fuel economy combined with the never-ending pursuit for more performance and speed has led many carmakers to look into using complex adhesives for their vehicles.
So, why the switch to adhesives? Well, a number of reasons. Because of stricter standards for fuel economy and the pursuit of higher performance many carmakers are looking to shed weight wherever they can. This means using lighter materials that can’t be bolted together and it also means that the bolts themselves could be replaced with lighter adhesives.

This also affects dent repair cost and fiberglass repair as a number of adhesives are often used in dent repair as well. In fact, collision repair specialists are always looking for the best way to perform their repairs and, while you can’t usually just glue everything back together (it’s a bit more complicated than that), adhesives do play a role in both dent repair and fiberglass repair.
For collision repair technicians, its not just their own use of adhesives that could increase with the new forms of adhesives that are stronger and more long-lasting, the fact that carmakers are increasing their own use of the adhesives means that collision repair professionals can expect that their may be implications for dent repair and dent repair cost because these adhesives may come apart in different ways than bolted on car parts.
This could be advantageous. One could foresee a car which is put together with very light and flexible parts that are connected with adhesives. During a collision, instead of mangling all of the malleable metal, the material could simply pop apart in certain places (while still protecting the passengers of the vehicle) making dent repair easier and less costly.
In the end, carmakers will continue to innovate just as dent repair professionals will and whether it is fiberglass repair or lowering the current dent repair cost, these new developments will certainly have an impact on collision repair.
Fiberglass is a very versatile material. Being made out of strands of plastic and glass woven into tough fibers, it is both lightweight and strong. This makes it ideally suited for a number of applications including aviation materials and, of course, car bodies. When it was originally developed in the 1930’s it revolutionized airplane materials because of its lightweight and high tensile strength. Today, fiberglass is used in thousands of different applications, including in the bodies of automobiles.
Black & White Auto Body is a body shop that specializes in fiberglass repair. In fact, our dent repair cost for fiberglass repair and replacement is superior to any of our competitors in the Colorado Springs area, especially for the added quality of service that we provide. Fiberglass parts are still used in cars today, even though they have somewhat been superseded by the invention of carbon fiber parts.
The main difference between fiberglass and carbon fiber is in the difficulty of manufacturing the materials. While fiberglass has a relatively efficient and affordable manufacturing process, carbon fiber requires more attention and more steps to manufacture meaning that it is significantly more costly, even though it can provide a superior level of strength for its weight in many situations. Carbon fiber parts are used in many performance vehicles, although fiberglass is also still applied in many areas where additional strength just isn’t worth the much higher cost of the carbon fiber material. By using fiberglass parts, our body shop at Black & White Auto Body is able to provide a lower dent repair cost, without sacrificing much in the way of quality.
If you are looking for a body shop that offers superior fiberglass repair services and a much lower dent repair cost for the quality of services, you should definitely call or come in to Black & White Auto Body. We can get you set up with the expert technicians who can make sure that your repair goes off without a hitch and comes in at an affordable cost as well. Make sure that you call the experts at Black & White in order to get your fiberglass repair or collision repair done today.
Black & White Auto Body is your one-stop-shop for a number of popular car repair and bodywork operations, including fiberglass repair. It takes a measure of skill and expertise to repair and the technicians at Black & White Auto Body are some of the best in the business when it comes to making sure that your fiberglass body part is repaired to a ‘good-as-new’ state.

There are a number of advantages of using fiberglass for auto body parts over the conventional metal parts that are used in many vehicles. For starters, fiberglass, which is a mixture of plastic and glass fibers is a very strong but still quite light material, so the reduction in the overall weight of the vehicle can be achieved without sacrificing a whole lot of strength and thus safety in the event of an auto accident. This is why you sometimes see fiberglass being used on retrofitted import vehicles. In many cases this application is actually a slightly different material called carbon fiber.
Carbon fiber is as strong as fiberglass, but offers more rigidity while maintaining a relatively low weight, making it ideal for performance applications. The biggest downside to carbon fiber is that the strands that make up the composite material are considerably more challenging to manufacture. This means that the price is also quite a bit higher than conventional fiberglass. However, the balance of strength and lightweight material simply cannot be beat in many situations. So, if you are into performance upgrades and racing you should definitely consider the carbon fiber component if the price isn’t unbearable.

Carbon fiber is extremely strong, typically up to ten times stronger than steel. That is why it is used in a variety of applications where low weight and high strength are required, for instance, in golf club drivers. At our body shop, we make sure to use the best materials in all of our collision repair services. We can work with both fiberglass and carbon fiber.
At Black & White Auto Body, we offer fiberglass repair as part of our full service collision repair services as a professional body shop and auto repair center.
